Clinical Medical Assistants must be familiar and well trained in pharmacology from the perspective of the medical office. This class includes those topics necessary to be a successful, informed, caring partner in healthcare to provide patient information and accurate communication with pharmacies. As such these students attend lectures and labs covering the basic principles and practices of a pharmacy, utilizing medical terminology, A&P, infection control, law and ethics as well as customer service. Emphasis is on that information required for the NCCT CCMA certification.
PREREQUISITES: Appropriate score on the pre-entrance test, high school diploma or equivalent.
