Specialize in machining if you are interested in an in-demand career in aerospace, defense, medical instrumentation or service industries. You develop unique skills in measurements, materials & safety, job planning, benchwork and layouts. Develop proficiency in effective and efficient use of tools and conventional equipment such as a mill, lathe, drill press, band saw and more. Successful students earn a minimum of three (3) NIMS credentials. The National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) is the global association that sets skill standards, certifies individuals.
Prerequisites: High school diploma or equivalent; successful completion of Foundations in Fabrication, or 2-year vocational welding program or by qualifying test. Safety glasses required.
