Pharmacy Technician

Our expanded Pharmacy Technician program is designed to prepare students to take and pass the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board  (PTCB) exam and become employed in the field. This class includes those topics necessary to be a successful, informed, caring partner in healthcare whether in a retail clinical,  or hospital setting. Lectures and labs cover the basic principles and practices of a pharmacy, utilizing medical terminology, A&P, infection control, law and ethics as well as customer service. Preparation for the PTCB includes review and practice test. Successful students enhance their resumes with clinical externship opportunity. MCVSD has agreements with Walgreens and Atlantic Health Systems/Morristown Medical Center. Textbook is included in the tuition.
PREREQUISITES: High school diploma or equivalent, acceptable score on the pre-entrance test.
